Job Overview: As an Operating Room Registered Nurse at Advanced Surgery Center of Northern Louisiana, you will be an integral part of our surgical team. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgical procedures, collaborating with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care in the operating room. Key Responsibilities: • Surgical Assistance: Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, assisting surgeons and scrub personnel, and maintaining a sterile environment. • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs, comfort, and safety throughout their surgical experience. • Medication Administration: Administer medications and anesthesia as prescribed, monitoring patient responses. • Emergency Response: Respond quickly to any intraoperative emergencies, ensuring the immediate availability of necessary supplies and support. • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including surgical counts and documentation of intraoperative events. • Infection Control: Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to minimize the risk of surgical site infections. • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and safe surgical operations.
