An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with Operating Room expertise, specializing in acute care within a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. This contract role is based in Naperville, IL, offering a focused setting to enhance surgical care delivery across multiple specialties.
Responsibilities:
• Provide perioperative nursing care with strong skills in scrubbing and circulating.
• Manage cases in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
• Float within the facility as needed, adhering to hospital policies.
• Participate in scheduled night shifts and one weekend call shift monthly.
• Maintain accurate documentation utilizing Cerner charting systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent acute care OR experience.
• Level 1 trauma experience mandatory.
• Proficiency in scrub and circulating techniques.
• Preferred expertise in Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology is advantageous.
• BLS certification required.
• Availability to work night shifts: 4 shifts, 10 hours each (8:30 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Ability to work every other weekend, including one 10-hour weekend call shift monthly.
• Commitment to float across units as needed.
Schedule Details:
• Night shifts: 4 x 10-hour shifts, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Weekend rotation: 2 weekends per month.
• Call shift: One 10-hour shift per month on weekends.
• Time off: Maximum 5 days off, no consecutive days exceeding 2 around holidays; no time off on weekends or adjacent to holidays.
