Job Description
A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to support a regional academic medical center. This contract position will require a blend of strong clinical skills and the ability to provide coverage during call shifts. The environment offers the chance to work with diverse surgical cases in orthopedics, neurology, and trauma.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver perioperative nursing care with a focus on orthopedic, neurological, and trauma surgeries
• Maintain safety and aseptic techniques in the operating room
• Effectively utilize electronic health records for documentation
• Participate in call rotation, providing coverage during weekdays, evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Valid RN license with Operating Room nursing experience
• Advanced knowledge in orthopedic, neuro, and trauma surgical nursing strongly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficient with electronic charting systems
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
Schedule and Work Hours:
• 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Call coverage includes four call shifts per month: three weekday calls (MondayFriday, 5:00 PM11:00 PM or 11:00 PM7:00 AM) and one weekend call (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM7:00 PM or 7:00 PM7:00 AM)
