Job Description
This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room care at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital. The main operating room comprises 21 suites covering diverse surgical specialties such as trauma, transplant, orthopedics, neurology, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics. The dynamic nursing team is composed primarily of RNs trained to scrub and circulate, providing advanced care using cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room environment.
• Participate in scrub and circulation duties during surgeries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Respond to emergency situations as part of potential hurricane season assignments.
• Float within the facility or to sister units as needed to support operational demands.
Qualifications & Experience
• Registered Nurse license (SC or Multi-State/Compact) required.
• Minimum of 2 years OR nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time OR nurses considered.
• Current BLS certification required; radiation badge provided.
• Scrub experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work rotating weekends and up to 4 on-call shifts per month.
Schedule/Hours
• Day shift: 4 x 10-hour shifts (6:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.) including holiday rotation.
• One weekend shift (6:30 a.m. 7:00 p.m.) per month, with rotating weekends.
• Up to 2 weekend call shifts monthly (7 a.m. 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. 7 a.m.).
Additional Details
• Parking permit available for a nominal registration fee.
• Option for block scheduling with managerial approval.
• Contract duration available with potential for extension.
• Travel and local candidates within 60 miles considered.
