OR Nurse (RN) | Hammond, Louisiana in Hammond, LA

A highly skilled registered nurse with Operating Room experience is sought to provide perioperative nursing care in a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves supporting a diverse range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, cardiothoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and teamwork with surgical and anesthesia teams. Responsibilities: • Perform circulating duties and patient assessments during day shift operations. • Coordinate seamlessly with surgical and anesthesia teams. • Maintain a sterile, safe environment in compliance with AORN standards and hospital policies. • Support various complex surgical specialties in a multi-specialty OR. • Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, trauma-level setting. Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a multi-specialty OR setting. • Preferred: Trauma Level II experience and familiarity with Epic systems. • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required. • Charge nurse experience is a plus. • Ability to meet weekend and holiday call requirements (3-4 call shifts per 4-week schedule). • Willingness to work during Mardi Gras season with minimal time-off requests from February 13 to 22. Schedule: • Choose between a 3x12-hour day shift (6:15 AM – 6:45 PM) or a 5x8-hour day shift (6:15 AM – 2:45 PM). • Weekend work is required; holiday coverage as needed.
