OR Nurse (RN) | Passaic, New Jersey in Belleville, NJ

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Registered Nurse with operating room expertise is needed for an 8-hour daytime shift position Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Passaic, NJ. This contract role requires a minimum of one year perioperative experience and call availability as part of the mitment.

Responsibilities include delivering direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative setting utilizing the nursing process, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and overseeing OR technicians and support staff. The nurse ensures continuous quality patient care for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to older adults. Maintaining pliance with hospital policies, participating in performance improvement activities, and providing resources for the team are essential ponents of this role.

Key qualifications and desired experience:
• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintained current
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire and current thereafter
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of hire and current thereafter
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or relevant on-the-job training
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Preoperative and postoperative nursing experience

On-call responsibilities require the RN to take a minimum of one weekday call per week from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and a maximum of two calls weekly. Weekend call occurs approximately once every five weekends, covering both Saturday and Sunday. The RN must be reachable by personal cell phone while on call and able to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes if summoned.
