A registered nurse with operating room expertise is needed for a contract position in Slidell, LA, at a Level II Trauma Center. This role focuses on perioperative nursing care within a dynamic, multi-specialty surgical environment, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities: • Provide circulating duties and comprehensive patient assessments during day shift operations. • Collaborate effectively with surgical and anesthesia teams to maintain smooth operative workflows. • Ensure a safe, sterile environment in compliance with AORN standards and hospital policies. • Manage diverse surgical cases including orthopedic, cardio-thoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures. • Participate in weekend shifts, call rotations (3-4 per 4-week schedule), and holiday coverage as required. Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a multi-specialty OR setting. • Trauma Level II experience preferred. • Epic system experience is a plus. • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required. • Charge nurse experience preferred. Schedule: • Choose between a 3x12-hour day shift (6:15 AM – 6:45 PM) or a 5x8-hour day shift (6:15 AM – 2:45 PM). • Weekend availability and on-call participation are required. • Assistance through Mardi Gras season is essential (February 13–22), with minimal time-off requests during this period.
