An experienced Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years in pediatric operating room care is needed to support a specialized 30-bed pediatric OR unit serving patients from newborns up to 17 years old. This position requires expertise in both scrub and circulate roles within the OR, with preferred skills including IV starts and robotic surgery experience. The role demands flexibility, including some weekday and weekend on-call duties on a rotating schedule. Location: Situated in Charleston, WV, this position is with a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center renowned for its advanced neonatal intensive care and teaching hospital status. This facility provides a supportive work environment with free parking and utilizes modern electronic charting systems such as Cerner. Schedule: • Five 8-hour day shifts (06:45 AM 3:15 PM) • On-call responsibilities including some evenings and weekends Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Pediatric General OR and General OR • Proven ability to scrub and circulate in pediatric surgical settings • BLS certification required • Experience in pediatric and womens specialty care strongly preferred • No first-time RN hires; must have active license to start (pending licenses accepted with conditions) • Flu vaccination required during flu season unless medically exempt • Ability to self-schedule call shifts • Must provide at least two managerial references and verifiable license and certification documentation Responsibilities: • Provide safe and effective perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients • Collaborate with surgical teams ensuring sterile field integrity and patient safety • Participate in call rotations fulfilling on-call duties during weekday evenings and weekends as needed • Document care using Cerner and related systems accurately Additional Information: Local candidates within a 75-mile radius preferred; relocation or travel flexibility is helpful for contract duration.
