OR Registered Nurse | Converse, Texas in Converse, TX

A skilled registered nurse with operating room experience is sought for a contract position in Converse, TX, supporting a busy surgical unit. This role is ideal for an adaptable and compassionate professional who thrives in a dynamic perioperative environment. The surgical unit operates five OR rooms equipped with standard operating room technology including video monitors, cautery, and arthroscopy equipment. The current team includes full-time, part-time, and PRN RNs alongside twelve surgical technicians. You will be part of a group that values patient-centered care with one-to-one patient ratios and a collaborative atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as an OR circulator, ensuring preparation and patient safety throughout surgical procedures • Collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams across various specialties such as orthopedics, gynecology, robotics, and cardiovascular surgery • Maintain compliance with unit policies and patient safety protocols • Participate in a rotating call schedule, including at least one weeknight and one weekend every five weeks Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Active RN licensure with operating room circulator experience (mandatory) • BLS and ACLS certifications are required • Preferred experience across surgical specialties including neuro, thoracic, urology, and vascular procedures • Flexibility to fulfill assigned call responsibilities and embrace a team-oriented approach • Positive, caring attitude that enhances the patient experience Schedule and Location: • One weeknight call shift minimum and one weekend call per 5-week schedule • Position located in Converse, TX, offering access to a community known for its friendly atmosphere and growing healthcare opportunities This contract role offers a chance to gain valuable experience in a supportive environment with well-established protocols and a dedicated staff.
