Job Description
An opportunity exists for a skilled Operating Room RN First Assist to support pediatric surgical care in a specialized 30-bed operating room unit serving patients from newborns to 17 years old. This contract role involves day shifts with some weekday and weekend on-call duties on a rotating schedule. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of RN experience and proven expertise in pediatric and general OR settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide first assist support in the pediatric operating room, including circulating and scrubbing duties
• Collaborate with the surgical team during procedures, ensuring sterile field maintenance and patient safety
• Participate in call rotations including some weeknights and weekends
• Adapt within the nursing scope to meet facility needs, maintaining high standards of pediatric and womens specialty care
Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; no entry-level candidates
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience in pediatric general OR and general OR preferred
• Skills in IV start and robotic surgery experience are a plus
• Ability to self-schedule call shifts; willingness to work rotating on-call hours
• Pending nursing licenses accepted with the expectation of active licensure to start
• Recent work history in pediatric and womens specialty hospital settings is highly desirable
• Compliance with flu vaccination policy (medical exceptions allowed); COVID vaccine not required

Additional Details:
• Schedule: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (06:45 to 17:15)
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
