Job Description
An experienced Registered Nurse with advanced trauma and surgical skills is sought to support a Level II Trauma Center operating room unit. This contract role is based in Sweet Home, OR, offering a challenging and dynamic environment where expertise across multiple specialties is essential.
Responsibilities include providing perioperative nursing care for high-acuity cases, focusing on orthopedic, neuro, general trauma, vascular, gynecological/urological, robotics, and other specialty procedures. The role requires confident handling of complex surgical equipment, including DaVinci robotic systems, ultrasound, Doppler, and various advanced surgical devices. Nurses will work four 10-hour day shifts from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, covering a 40-hour week with some on-call responsibilities up to four 8-hour shifts monthly.
Key qualifications and experience:
• Active RN license with trauma nursing expertise
• Minimum 2 years Level 1-2 experience in orthopedic (including total joint arthroplasty) and neuro cases (including craniotomies)
• Broad proficiency in vascular, endovascular/hybrid, general trauma, gynecological/urological, ENT/plastics, ophthalmology, and robotics procedures
• At least one year of experience using Epic electronic health records
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications strongly preferred
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity Level II trauma operating room environment
This acute care facility boasts 385 staffed beds with a strong focus on surgical services, utilizing cutting-edge technology such as the DaVinci Xi robotic systems across multiple OR suites. Parking is provided free of charge, and scrub uniforms are supplied.
Located in Sweet Home, OR, the area offers a small-town atmosphere with access to outdoor recreation and a close-knit community while being within reach of larger city amenities, creating a balanced lifestyle for healthcare professionals.
This contract opportunity includes an orientation held bi-weekly on Mondays and requires availability to start as soon as possible. Experienced clinicians comfortable in multi-specialty trauma surgery with advanced technological proficiency are encouraged to apply.
