An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room care, with strong proficiency in Ophthalmology and DaVinci Robot-assisted general surgery. This contract position offers a structured weekday schedule with on-call responsibilities, set within a collaborative and skilled team environment. Location This role is based in the vibrant Chicago metropolitan area, specifically in Glenview, IL, approximately 28 miles north of downtown Chicago. Schedule • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (4 days/week) • Approximately 40 hours per week • On-call rotation approximately 8-10 days, including weekends, within 30 minutes of the hospital Responsibilities • Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room with a focus on Ophthalmology and robotic-assisted surgeries using the DaVinci system • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care and safety • Utilize Epic electronic medical records system for patient documentation and communication • Adhere to established protocols and maintain compliance with certifications and hospital policies Qualifications and Experience • Active Illinois RN license • Minimum of two years of experience in an OR setting, including proficiency with Ophthalmology and DaVinci Robot-assisted general surgery • At least one prior travel contract assignment completed • Current BLS certification required • Experience with Epic EMR system strongly preferred Additional Requirements • Must be able to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes of the hospital • Pre-employment credentials including CBC, drug screen, and QuantiFERON gold test required within 90 days prior to start • Orientation can be completed any weekday prior to assignment This 8-week contract assignment offers the chance to work with a strong, supportive team in a well-equipped hospital environment.
