A registered nurse with strong skills in operating room care, particularly in ortho, neuro, and trauma, is needed to support a busy surgical team. This opportunity offers 13 weeks of impactful work with a reputable academic medical center serving a broad regional community. Location Huntington, West Virginia, is a vibrant city nestled along the Ohio River. Responsibilities • Provide expert perioperative nursing care with emphasis on ortho, neuro, and trauma cases • Manage patient care throughout surgical procedures, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols • Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff using Cerner charting systems • Participate in call coverage: cover 4 call shifts monthly including 3 weekday evening/night shifts and 1 weekend shift • Maintain readiness for varied surgical case requirements, contributing to smooth OR operations Qualifications and Experience • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with operating room experience • Strong background in orthopedic, neurological, and trauma nursing essential • BLS certification required • Comfortable with call shift responsibilities and flexible scheduling • Experience with Cerner electronic medical records preferred Schedule • Day shifts: 3x 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Call shifts: Weekday evenings/nights and one weekend shift per month Additional Details • Scrubs provided for all assigned shifts • Contract position with an immediate start, duration of 13 weeks This role provides an excellent chance to apply specialized nursing skills in a dynamic environment while supporting patients from a wide regional area.
