As an integral part of our organization, you will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator to provide top-tier patient care.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individual patient care in accordance with our unit policies and procedures. You will also supervise non-RN personnel and may be called upon to work on different nursing units to ensure efficient distribution of staff and patients.
Responsibilities
• Continuously assess the patient's physical and psychosocial conditions.
• Develop, communicate, and document an individualized plan of care that addresses patient problems and outlines interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Coordinate the implementation of the care plan with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan and patient responses, making necessary adjustments and referrals.
• Plan patient and family education based on individual learning needs, and document educational outcomes.
• Act as a preceptor to new staff.
• Fulfill the role of Charge Nurse as needed.
• Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and professional development.
• Perform other related duties to maintain departmental operations effectively.
• Demonstrate competency in neuro patient care and perform neuro assessments.
• Manage airway for neuro patients and assist in care during special neuro procedures.
• Conduct suctioning according to established protocols.
• Care for patients in specialized devices like halo braces and ventilators.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Proficient in electronic patient records and capable of conducting literature searches regarding patient care.
Experience: N/A
Licensure: Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.
Special Skills: BLS certification required.
