Join a dedicated team in a vital role! As an Outpatient Adult Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner at Backus Hospital, you will play a key role in enhancing the mental health of our community. We are seeking a passionate individual to evaluate and manage psychiatric disorders effectively. Location: Backus Hospital (10309) Work Schedule: Choose from 4 days per week with 10-hour shifts or 5 days per week with 8-hour shifts. Your Responsibilities: • Evaluate and manage psychiatric disorders efficiently. • Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and case management. • Perform crisis interventions and medication management. • Develop and implement both long and short-range treatment plans. • Order and perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, ensuring comprehensive patient notification and follow-up care. • Seek medical management consultations when necessary. • Complete all clinical reminders to ensure each patient's information is up-to-date in the system. • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other advanced practitioners. Qualifications: • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's program required. • Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut. • National Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred. • 1+ years of experience in an outpatient psychiatric setting preferred.
