We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to facilitate patient care, manage electronic medical records, and triage phone calls for nurse-related questions. The role involves coordinating follow-up on patient care, reviewing imaging orders, biopsies, medication reviews, and conducting nurse visits in the office. You will be responsible for organizing medications for doctors, updating EMR, and handling prescription refills.
Responsibilities
• Employ appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR.
• Maintain efficient patient flow.
• Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
• Assure all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and/or documenting care.
• Ensure proper preparation for patient visits and prepare pertinent information needed.
• Provide referrals and consult orders appropriately and in a timely manner in the PMS and EHR.
• Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment according to policy.
• Collect lab specimens according to departmental guidelines and accurately label specimens.
• Demonstrate telephone triage protocols and document in EHR.
• Schedule appointments appropriately and accurately according to department guidelines.
• Review and update medication lists in EHR, demonstrating understanding of prescription control and prescription refill procedures.
• Accurately document known allergies in EHR.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.
Essential Skills
• Active NJ State Nursing License
• Experience with EMR systems (Athena or Epic preferred)
• Patient care skills
• RN license
• Associates degree required, BSN preferred
• Experience in Orthopedic, Pain management, Podiatry, or Muscular/Skeletal settings
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Outpatient experience is nice to have
• Experience in primary care or hospital facility
• Experience with triage and healthcare protocols
Work Environment
The work environment is supportive, with a team of staff and providers dedicated to patient care. The role involves building long-term relationships with patients, seeing them quarterly or biannually. Working hours are Monday to Friday with rotations of 7:30-4, 8-4:30, and 8:30-5:00, including six Saturdays a year. Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, lifting heavy objects, physical mobility and agility, dexterity, balance, and endurance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
