Job Overview Postpartum Network provides the highest quality care to new mothers and their infants. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our overnight care team. This position offers the unique opportunity to support families in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in Mother/Baby, Women/Newborn, NICU, Labor & Delivery, PICU, or Pediatrics, with strong assessment and clinical skills, a nurturing bedside manner, and a deep passion for supporting maternal and infant wellness. This role involves working closely with families to ensure the best possible care outcomes. Ideal candidate must be available 3 nights/week. Duties • Perform comprehensive mother and newborn assessments and develop individualized care plans. • Monitor vital signs and track progress throughout overnight shifts. • Educate families on newborn care, including feeding, sleep safety, and infant development. • Ensure a safe sleep environment in alignment with AAP guidelines. • Collaborate with the Postpartum Network team and other healthcare providers to coordinate care. • Document all care provided and client interactions accurately and in real-time. • Deliver total overnight newborn care: feeding assistance, burping, upright holding, bathing, diapering, swaddling, dressing, umbilical cord care, and circumcision care. • Support mothers with postpartum recovery, including hydration, rest, and emotional reassurance. • Assist with light household tasks related to mother and baby (e.g., pump part cleaning, baby laundry, tidying feeding areas). Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee. • Minimum 3-5 years of RN experience in a clinical or hospital setting (preferably in a teaching hospital). • Current BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred. • Proficient in newborn and maternal assessment and care techniques. • Exceptional communication and patient education skills. • Excellent bedside manner and compassionate care approach. • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. • Must carry active malpractice liability insurance. • Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to clients’ homes, Nashville- Franklin TN, and surrounding areas. • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in nursing.
