A skilled Registered Nurse with a focus on PeriAnesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and GI Lab/Endoscopy nursing is sought for a contract position located in Elgin, IL. This role supports pre-op and post-op care in a busy Endoscopy unit, providing critical patient monitoring and care during moderate sedation procedures. The schedule is full-time, 40 hours per week, with 8-hour day shifts starting between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Location Elgin, IL, offers a blend of suburban comfort and easy access to major metropolitan areas. Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive pre-op and post-op nursing care in the GI Lab/Endoscopy unit. • Monitor patients undergoing moderate sedation, ensuring safety and comfort. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians and technicians. • Accurately document patient care activities in the electronic medical record system (Epic). • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and facility standards. • Potential to float to nearby locations including Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook. Qualifications / Desired Experience • Active Illinois RN license. • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU settings. • Current ACLS and CPR certifications. • Proficient with Epic electronic health records. • Ability to pass an EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher. • Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills. • Comfortable working a consistent day shift schedule without weekends or holidays. Additional Information • Approximately 30-60 cases handled daily. • No weekend or holiday requirements, helping to maintain work-life balance. • Candidates must submit an updated resume, Illinois licensure, skills checklist, one supervisor reference dated within the last year, and proof of passing the EKG test.
