Employment Type:Full timeShift:Evening ShiftDescription:Position PurposeAt Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Main PACU provides post-operative care for patients recovering from complex surgeries performed in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma Center.What You Will DoProvide high-acuity care for patients recovering from trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and other critical surgeries. Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and transfer readiness.Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards.Minimum QualificationsRequired:Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing requiredValid RN license in ConnecticutThe ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recoveryCandidates with Emergency Room or ICU nurses with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills. Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertisePreferred:BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire)Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelinesPosition Highlights and BenefitsFull-Time – 40 hours/week – Rotating Day/Evening ShiftsTwo 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts per weekVariable start times, with weekend rotations of every 3rd weekendOn-call requirements are based on unit needs.
