A specialized nursing opportunity is available within a busy GI Lab and Endoscopy unit, offering a focused role in pre-op and post-op care for patients undergoing procedures. This position entails working standard 8-hour day shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, with start times between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. Key Responsibilities: • Provide skilled pre-operative and post-operative nursing care in a PACU setting. • Assist in the administration of moderate sedation, with continuous patient monitoring. • Manage a daily caseload of 30 to 60 patients undergoing GI Lab and Endoscopy procedures. • Float occasionally to nearby locations, including Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook, supporting staffing needs. • Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and communication. Qualifications and Experience: • Active Illinois RN license. • Minimum of 2 years’ experience specifically in GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU pre-op/post-op nursing. • Current ACLS certification is required upon application. • Strong proficiency with Epic software. • CPR certification. • Ability to pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher before placement. Schedule and Work Environment: • Shifts are standard weekday hours; no weekend or holiday work required. • Floating may be necessary but does not include weekends or holidays.
