A registered nurse with PACU expertise is needed to provide exceptional care in a dynamic surgical environment. This contract position is based near Middleton, WI, offering a unique opportunity to support both preoperative and postoperative patients with comprehensive nursing skills. Key Qualifications and Experience: • Recent experience in PACU or recovery room settings is essential. • Skilled in pre-op preparation and Phase II post-op RN duties. • Minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years. • Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system, ideally within the last year. • Must hold a Wisconsin nursing license or a compact nursing license valid for Wisconsin practice. • Current American Heart Association certification in BLS and ACLS required. • Basic Arrhythmia knowledge with ability to pass a Telemetry test prior to start. Responsibilities: • Prepare inpatient and outpatient surgery candidates within the Universal Care Center. • Deliver Phase II recovery care including pain management, anesthesia recovery, and discharge education. • Provide vigilant patient assessments and interventions in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, ensuring safe recovery following surgery. • Flexibly float among multiple units and locations as staffing needs require. Schedule: • Monday through Friday, day/evening shifts. • 8- or 10-hour shifts between the hours of 5:00 AM and 8:30 PM. • Typical schedule example: Day shift, 5x8 hours (5:00 AM - 3:30 PM).
