Job Description
This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (RN-PACU) seeking a contract position in North Pole, AK. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. This position requires strong clinical skills, the ability to manage patient care in a fast-paced setting, and excellent communication with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor and assess patients conditions in PACU following anesthesia administration
• Manage pain, vital signs, and overall patient comfort during postoperative recovery
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and respond appropriately to emergencies
• Document patient care and recovery progress accurately in medical records
• Participate in on-call rotation and holiday coverage as required
Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid Alaska nursing license (AK RN) required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU nursing experience; 5+ years preferred
• Current certifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and BLS (Basic Life Support) mandatory
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 36 hours per week, primarily in 12-hour day shifts (6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.), with weekend on-call duties
• Successful completion of background fingerprinting within 48 hours of acceptance
