A Registered Nurse with Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) expertise is sought for a 13-week contract opportunity in Blackfoot, ID. This role requires strong clinical skills in a Level 2 trauma hospital setting, with hands-on experience in PACU environments. The position offers 12-hour shifts combined with on-call responsibilities, allowing for an engaging and dynamic work schedule. Qualifications & Desired Experience: • 1 to 3 years of PACU nursing experience • Experience working in a Level 2 trauma hospital • Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications • Skilled in IV starts, managing drips, arterial lines, and pain blocks • Proficient with Meditech documentation system • Ability to maintain patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 Schedule/Hours: • 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. • One call night per week from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. • One 48-hour weekend call every 4 weeks • Approximately 36 hours per week plus call Key Responsibilities: • Deliver focused post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery • Closely monitor vital signs and manage pain control interventions • Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to optimize patient outcomes • Maintain clear, accurate documentation as per hospital protocols • Float to Day Surgery unit when required • Adhere to unit staffing protocols with support from unit secretaries and techs About the Location: Blackfoot, Idaho, offers a welcoming community environment with access to natural beauty including nearby mountains and rivers.
