A skilled Registered Nurse with PACU expertise is sought for a contract role supporting a busy GI Lab and Endoscopy unit in Chicago, IL. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment managing pre-op and post-op care, including moderate sedation cases. The unit handles 30-60 cases daily, requiring a candidate with sharp clinical judgment and strong technical skills. Responsibilities: • Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care in the GI Lab/Endoscopy setting. • Monitor patients undergoing moderate sedation, ensuring safety and comfort. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain efficient patient flow. • Utilize Epic electronic health records to document care and communicate effectively. • Float to nearby locations as needed, including Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook. Qualifications: • Active Illinois RN license. • Minimum 2 years of experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU pre-op/post-op nursing. • Current ACLS and CPR certifications. • Proven proficiency with Epic electronic medical records. • Successful completion of an EKG test with a passing score of 80% or higher. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a clinical setting. • Reliable float capability without weekend or holiday requirements. Schedule: • Full-time, 8-hour day shifts (7 AM or 8 AM starts). • 40 hours per week, no weekends or holiday shifts.
