Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
Certifications/Licenses: Must possess a current New Mexico RN license or a compact state license. BLS Certification is required or must be obtained within two weeks of your hire date. All other required certifications must be secured within six months of hire. Note that maintaining certifications is mandatory, with no grace period for renewal.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge and skills relevant to the age/type of patient population.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of patients' rights during care.
• Effective communication skills tailored to the developmental stage of each patient.
Experience:
Nature of Supervision:
This position reports to the Patient Care Director or Manager.
Environment:
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and x-rays.
• Working in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated smoke-free environment.
• Subject to frequent changes in schedule and potential stressors inherent to emergency care.
Physical Requirements: Must be equipped to manage emergency situations requiring significant physical activity, including prolonged standing and walking. Be prepared for heavy lifting, patient transfers, and requiring physical dexterity, including reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Good vision and hearing are essential, with manual coordination necessary for patient care.
