Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Certification/ Licenses: Current RN license in New Mexico or a Compact state license is necessary. BLS Certification is required within 2 weeks of your hire date. Please note that all other certifications must be obtained within 6 months of the hire date, and once hired, you must maintain these certifications without a grace period for renewal.
Skills:
• Knowledge and skills relevant to the age and type of patient population served.
• Understanding and sensitivity to patients' rights in care delivery.
• Effective communication skills, adaptable to the developmental age of patients.
Experience:
Nature of Supervision:
- Responsible to: Patient Care Director or Manager.
Environment:
• Exposure to Bloodborne pathogens (type C for OR, PACU, L&D) and type B in other patient care areas, along with risks associated with infectious diseases and x-rays.
Work in a clean, well-lit, smoke-free environment with potential for stressful professional relationships. Flexibility in working hours is required due to unpredictable changes and emergencies.
Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to respond effectively to emergencies, which may involve prolonged standing and walking. You will need to exert heavy physical effort in positioning or transferring patients and equipment. Key physical tasks include reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are essential in this role.
