Join Our Compassionate Healthcare Team Our Surgical Specialties Med Surg unit, located on the 4 South wing of St. Agnes Hospital, features 19 beds dedicated to urology, GI, vascular surgeries, wound care, pediatrics, orthopedics, and trauma. Values Compassion, respect, excellence, stewardship, and community. Schedule: Four 8-hour shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM. Work two days one week and three days the next (5 shifts total). Includes every third weekend and holiday rotation. Position Summary: The Registered Nurse will deliver direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols. Key Responsibilities: • Enhance patient care through systematic evaluation of nursing practices. • Build effective relationships with patients, families, and significant others to develop tailored care plans. • Employ the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. • Consider the diverse dimensions of patients' responses to health challenges. • Demonstrate knowledge about the impact of illnesses on a patient's overall status. • Utilize leadership skills to collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams. • Communicate effectively to ensure culturally sensitive and compassionate care. • Educate patients and families about health promotion and restoration measures. • Foster a supportive work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues. • Incorporate evidence-based practices to tailor nursing care to specific patient needs. • Maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to safety protocols. • Perform point of care testing as per established guidelines. • Other duties as assigned. Education: • Graduate from an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational background. Experience: • No prior experience required. Physical Requirements: • Continuous verbal communication. • Constant standing and walking. • Frequent lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. • Frequent use of vision and hearing abilities. • Occasional lifting of 25-50 lbs. • Occasional patient handling and movement.
