Job Overview:

The night shift RN provides comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to Med Surg patients, collaborating with physicians and team members under the guidance of the supervisor. This position involves caring for a diverse patient population within the hospital and ICU. Shifts are from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, requiring at least 2 weekend shifts per month.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and document patient conditions accurately.
• Implement treatment plans and follow physician orders.
• Support patient positioning and transport as needed.
• Exhibit a thorough understanding of all equipment, instruments, and procedures relevant to the nursing position.
• Maintain detailed records of treatments, orders, and patient interactions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and drips according to prescribed orders.
• Facilitate patient discharges in accordance with physician directions.
• Registered Nurses must possess a graduate degree from an accredited nursing program and hold a valid Illinois nursing license.
• A current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) is mandatory.
• Prior Med Surg/ICU experience is preferred but not required.
• Availability to work overnight shifts from 6 PM to 6:30 AM is essential.
