Job Description
Deliver critical step-down nursing care in a dynamic hospital environment in Albuquerque, NM. This contract position requires a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse ready to provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process to manage an assigned patient group effectively. You will be responsible for delivering safe, patient-centered, and equitable care, ensuring comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient needs and outcomes.
Responsibilities include collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams to coordinate care, administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and protocols, and supporting patient and family education throughout their care journey. Additionally, you will oversee the clinical supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel, ensuring high-quality care standards are maintained.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid RN licensure with experience in step-down or progressive care nursing
• Ability to successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test, administered onsite with one retest opportunity
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to float between departments and locations within a 20-mile radius
