
PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Anniston, Alabama in Anniston, AL
Job Description
Provide high-quality nursing care in a stepdown unit with a focus on cardiac monitoring and emergency response. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting, supporting patients on MedSurg, Telemetry, and Stepdown units with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver skilled nursing care to patients in MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms closely and respond promptly to emergencies.
• Perform IV insertions and manage heparin protocols according to established guidelines.
• Administer and manage cardiac drips, excluding titration.
• Float within MedSurg and Telemetry units as required.
• Maintain patient safety and accurate documentation with a focus on quality care.
Qualifications and Experience
• Active Alabama Registered Nurse license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience in MedSurg, Tele, PCU, or Stepdown nursing units.
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Ability to start IVs and manage heparin and cardiac drip protocols effectively.
• Comfortable working night shifts, including 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (7 PM to 7 AM).
• Open to first-time travel nurses.
Schedule
• Night Shifts: 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).
