PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Burlington, North Carolina in Burlington, NC

A skilled Registered Nurse is needed to provide dedicated care in a progressive step-down unit focused on cardiac patients. This contract opportunity is based in Burlington, NC, and requires expertise in managing complex cardiovascular conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities include monitoring and caring for patients with acute coronary syndrome, post and pre-cardiac catheterization (with or without intervention), arrhythmias, and syncope. The role involves the use of rapid response teams and management of devices such as TR Bands, central lines, PICC lines, and CVP monitoring. Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records is essential. Nurses will support patients with chest pain, stable STEMI/NSTEMI, new onset and chronic atrial fibrillation (including Tikosyn loading), as well as patients undergoing EP lab procedures for pacemaker or ICD placement. Secondary patient populations include those with heart failure and other progressive care cases. The position requires float flexibility among hospital campuses within the health system. Schedule: • Night shift: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM 7:00 AM) • Up to every other weekend with a request to work 5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks Desired Experience: • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in cardiac telemetry and progressive care units • BLS and ACLS certification required • Experience with rapid response teams and cardiovascular monitoring equipment • Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records Location: Burlington, NC, offers a vibrant community with a balance of suburban and small-town charm.
