
PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Concord, North Carolina in Concord, NC
Job Description
A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a focus on progressive care stepdown nursing in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract position is ideal for RNs skilled in managing complex patient cases in a progressive care unit, located in Concord, NC.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
• Current RN license with at least 18 months of progressive care unit (PCU) experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
• Proven skills in cardiac telemetry, tracheostomy and ventilator support, management of temporary/transvenous pacemakers, and titration of IV drips
• Experience with diverse patient diagnoses including COPD/pulmonary diseases, heart failure, sepsis, and renal failure
• Proficiency in chest tube care, wound dressing changes, and administration of blood products
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage high acuity patients safely and competently
• Comfortable with regional floating as part of patient care and unit staffing needs

• Deliver comprehensive progressive care to patients requiring complex cardiac and pulmonary management in a PCU setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including CNA, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists to maximize patient outcomes
• Utilize advanced monitoring technologies such as EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication systems, and Phillips monitors
• Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing professional development
• Float within the designated region to support staffing and patient care demands as necessary
