PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Irvine, California in Costa Mesa, CA

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with Stepdown care expertise to provide high-quality patient support in a healthcare setting located in Irvine, CA. This contract position is ideal for nurses who are proficient with tracheostomy and ventilator care and who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting critically ill patients. Weekend availability is essential, with preference given to candidates who can commit to a full schedule through late January into early February.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients, including monitoring ventilated and tracheostomy patients.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols and compliance standards.
• Support patient recovery processes through detailed assessment and intervention.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active nursing license in good standing.
• Proficient in trach and ventilator care.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS and NRP as required.
• Compliance with immunization requirements including MMR and Varicella vaccination or formal declination.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.
• Flexibility to work weekends and meet scheduling preferences.
