PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Louisville, Kentucky in Clarksville, IN

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with experience in step-down and mixed acuity care on a 17-bed unit specializing in general overflow patients. This contract position offers a night shift schedule with a competitive patient ratio and requires flexibility to float to any PCU or Medical-Surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide skilled nursing care on a step-down unit with mixed acuity patients
• Manage patient care with higher ratios (5:1) including cardiac drip management and telemetry monitoring
• Utilize medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, IV and SCD pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners
• Collaborate effectively with the care team, demonstrating critical thinking and flexibility to float across related units
• Adhere to facility protocols and maintain required documentation using Cerner EMR

Qualifications & Experience:
• Current RN license in Kentucky with BLS and NIH certifications
• Minimum two years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down nursing
• Proficient with telemetry, cardiac medications, and managing higher patient ratios
• Friendly, team-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing clinical demands

Schedule & Shift Details:
• 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No call responsibilities

Professional Appearance:
• Scrubs: Galaxy blue tops with black or galaxy blue bottoms; white or gray undershirts allowed
