
PCU/Stepdown Nurse RN New Hampshire in Bow, NH
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A nursing opportunity is available for skilled RNs with stepdown experience in progressive care settings. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of telemetry monitoring and chest tube management, ideal for candidates comfortable working with complex cardiac and vascular patients.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Must have telemetry skills and be comfortable managing chest tubes
Preferred experience with cardiac drips such as dobutamine, dopamine, and Levo
Familiarity with external pacemakers is a plus
Competent in procedures like pericardiocentesis with drain management, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion
ACLS and BLS certifications are required
Organized, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Location:
Concord, NH This contract position offers an excellent chance to work within a progressive care unit in a dynamic New England setting. Concord blends a rich historical atmosphere with modern amenities, offering access to beautiful parks, cultural activities, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and care for patients primarily undergoing cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical interventions, as well as medical progressive care patients
Utilize advanced equipment including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP devices, and pacemakers
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
Perform assigned procedures and manage critical care equipment and patient responses
Adhere to unit policies and provide care with attention to safety and comfort
Schedule/Hours:
Every third weekend worked, with no call
May include day and night shifts as needed within the progressive care unit
