A registered nurse with stepdown experience is needed for a contract assignment in Plano, TX. This opportunity involves working the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM on a surgical trauma stepdown unit that supports a variety of acute and post-operative patients. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center with a 25-bed unit staffed by an experienced team providing care for complex cases.

Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive care for patients in the stepdown unit, including those with trauma, orthopedic, vascular, neuro/spine, bariatric, and general surgery needs
• Monitor vital signs, telemetry, and patient assessments per unit protocols
• Administer and manage intravenous drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Dobutamine, and others
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Perform patient care duties such as medication administration, wound care, and patient education
• Adapt to dynamic clinical situations and maintain effective communication with patients and staff
Qualifications:
• Current RN license
• Stepdown unit care experience strongly preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
• Trauma and orthopedic experience is a plus
Additional Details:
• Patient ratio typically 1:4 or max 1:5 for stepdown care
• No on-call requirement
• Floating may be required to related units such as Progressive Care or Heart and Vascular
• Work on a 5th-floor unit equipped with modern monitoring equipment and technology
• Join a dedicated team in a Level 2 trauma center with a high volume of emergency admissions
