Providing specialized critical care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting requires focused skill and experience. Qualifications and Desired Experience • Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of PICU critical care experience • Minimum 1 year of documented cardiac care experience within PICU • Proficiency with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring • Experience managing BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies • Current BLS and PALS certification required; NRP certification preferred • Familiarity with EPIC charting system • Ability to float to Pediatrics and NICU units as required based on hospital needs • Previous experience in a fast-paced critical care environment Responsibilities • Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in a 19-bed PICU with a patient ratio of approximately 1:2 • Monitor and manage critically ill patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement patient care plans • Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and electronic charting systems accurately • Maintain compliance with safety and procedural protocols • Adapt to floating assignments to Pediatrics, NICU, or other units as necessary Schedule and Shift Details • Night shift: 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) • Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) About the Location Based in Newark, NJ, this medical center boasts a robust pediatric program including a leading Children’s Hospital.
