CIFC Health a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), a project of Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. (CIFC), seeks a full-time Pediatric Nurse Manager / Registered Nurse (RN). The RN in collaboration with the Chief of Pediatrics would supervise the Clinical support staff (RNs, LPNs, Lead Medical Assistant and Medical Assistants), works directly with clinicians, within the scope of RN licensure, to facilitate quality patient communication and care, and efficient patient flow to the Pediatric patients of the Health Center.
The Nurse Manager administers, directs and coordinates all activities relating to the operation of
the Pediatric Department including the coordination of the scheduling for all nursing and
clinical support staff, including after hours and weekend coverage. The Nurse Manager recruits,
interviews, trains, mentors, counsels and completes staff evaluations.
1. Provides daily direction and supervision of the clinical support staff as per the above.
2. Confirming “on-call” schedules for the Pediatric Medicine Department, and
ensuring proper dissemination of the schedule (i.e. Rainbow Babies, Accurate
Answer, etc.)
3. Develops clinical support staff goals and objectives in alignment with the CIFC Health
mission & goals.
4. Collaborates with the management team in the strategic planning process to support
organizational initiatives.
5. Collaborates with School Based Health Center staff and support scheduling as
appropriate
6. Participate in Staff Quality Assurance Committee Meetings.
7. Ensures the best interest of the CIFC Health and employees in accordance with policies,
procedures and governmental laws and regulations; recommends personnel actions.
8. Establishes, with Chief of Pediatric Medicine and other CIFC Health leadership personnel,
appropriate interdisciplinary models of care for assigned Health Center unit(s).
9. Ensures clinical support staff adherence to CIFC Health human resources policy. Resolves
personnel problems and enforces disciplinary actions.
10. Works to keep staff morale high.
11. Establishes clinical staff meeting schedules and conducts weekly meetings with RNs,
LPNs and Lead MA.
12. Responsible for the protection of the privacy of all staff, physicians and patients, by
instituting, managing and using proper procedures.
13. Interface with management, staff, and providers to implement systems, and advance
program improvements, and assure proper organization & monitoring of all clinical
systems.
14. Supervise and troubleshoot patient flow related systems from beginning to end of patient
visit.
15. Promote communication and proper information flow within the GDCHC.
16. Oversee and troubleshoot medical management software systems.
17. Provides direct clinical services of an LPN or RN, (as licensed) if required for the proper
delivery of patient services and the exigencies of clinical operations.
18. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), hold an active RN License issued by the State of CT, and two years of appropriate supervisory and medical office experience (or equivalent).
