A pediatric registered nurse opportunity is available for a dedicated professional with at least 2 years of nursing experience. This contract position is based in Charlotte, NC, on a specialized pediatric medical-surgical and hematology/oncology unit. The role requires providing exceptional care to patients from ages 0 to 17, including critical care support across PICU and NICU departments. Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, including administration of chemotherapy as prescribed. • Support float assignments to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). • Utilize clinical systems such as PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for patient care documentation. • Participate in a 24-hour unit orientation and a week-long hospital orientation, with mandatory class attendance. • Maintain target nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 to ensure personalized care. • Work a schedule of 3 twelve-hour night shifts (18:45–07:15) with every other weekend coverage. Preferred Qualifications: • Current certifications in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). • Experience with chemotherapy administration and certification preferred. • Skills in IV starts and lab draws are highly valued. • At least 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers with required experience are welcome. Additional Details: • This role prohibits Return to Office (RTO) after booking and any call-offs may lead to cancellation. • Scrubs are not provided; fun pediatric-themed tops and navy pants are preferred attire. • The shift includes floating responsibilities within critical pediatric care units, offering diverse clinical experience.
