Job Description
This opportunity is ideal for a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) with experience or strong interest in Hematology and Oncology. The role is based in Edison, NJ, offering a contract position focused on providing specialized care for pediatric patients facing a variety of childhood cancers and sickle cell conditions.
Key Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with Pediatric experience
• Minimum 2 years in Hematology/Oncology (inpatient or outpatient settings accepted)
• Certifications required: APHON, BLS, PALS, and IV Certification
• Competent in EPIC electronic medical records, PEWs assessments, and phlebotomy skills including A-lines, central lines, and PICCs
• Experience with administering and monitoring chemotherapy; Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience preferred
• Ability to float efficiently between Pediatrics, Adolescent, and PICU Stepdown units
• Availability for every other weekend and holiday shifts; no block scheduling
• Locals to Edison, NJ preferred; first-time Hem/Onc nurses are welcome
Shift and Schedule:
• Night shift, working three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Responsibilities:
• Deliver compassionate care to pediatric patients with complex cancer and sickle cell diagnoses
• Maintain and monitor treatment protocols including chemo administration and wound care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Use advanced technical skills in phlebotomy and patient monitoring equipment
• Adapt to varied patient care environments within the division as needed
