Position Summary:
The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering essential nursing care to patients aged 0-45 years who require professional nursing services. This position focuses on educating the patient, their caregivers, and the healthcare team while adhering to physician orders and established care plans.
Hiring Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in good standing in your practicing state.
• A minimum of six (6) months of recent, verifiable RN nursing experience in pediatric acute care or home health; one (1) year is preferred.
• For patients over age 20, six (6) months of recent, verifiable nursing experience in acute care or home health is required, with one (1) year preferred.
• Strong professional demeanor with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Effective English reading, writing, and communication abilities.
• A valid state driver’s license and automobile liability insurance are required.
• Seat belts must be worn at all times while driving.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Understand and respond to the unique health needs of patients, fostering an environment conducive to optimal growth and development.
• Educate and support families/caregivers to promote independence in caring for their child/adult.
• Deliver direct patient care, monitor outcomes, and collaborate with healthcare professionals while modifying care plans for the best patient outcomes.
• Engage in developing comprehensive Nursing Care Plans that assess patient needs, including safety, nutrition, medication, and environmental factors.
• Regularly reassess patient needs, adapting care accordingly and promptly communicating changes to the physician and Clinical Supervisor.
• Maintain respect for patient and family rights while upholding confidentiality standards.
• Ensure adequate supplies and the proper functioning of medical equipment.
• Complete documentation in accordance with Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care policies.
• Provide timely patient updates to the Clinical Supervisor for safety and continued care approvals.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new employees as a preceptor when necessary.
• Enhance professional development through ongoing education, staff meetings, and participation in professional organizations.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support relevant projects and studies.
• Act as an advocate for patients.
• Adhere to departmental policies and standards related to quality improvement, safety, and infection control.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong communication skills to address the needs of patients and caregivers within home settings.

Travel Requirements:
This position involves travel to patient homes and company office locations.
Essential Physical Demands:

• Possible exposure to dust, gas, fumes, and odors during travel.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to travel to the office, various branches, and patient homes.
• Manual dexterity to operate patient care equipment.
• Capability to utilize office equipment like computers, printers, and copiers.
• Visual acuity necessary for reviewing documentation.
• Ability to regularly lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
