Job Description

Adventist Health Castle seeks an experienced, mission minded Per Diem, Nurse Practitioner for our Preoperative Evaluation Center. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, flexible, possess strong communication skills, and work in partnership with primary care and specialist physicians, nurses, and other peers. The Nurse Practitioner serves as an integral part of the broader perioperative and anesthesiology teams to medically optimize patients for procedures. The incumbent maintains responsibility for coordination among teams, providing expert patient care and education for a variety of surgeries, anesthesia evaluation, chart review of past medical history, perform history and physical examinations for surgical patient candidates, including cardiac and medical evaluations to assess surgical risks, and synthesizes clinical data. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited graduate-level program that produced a master’s degree in clinical nursing or nursing science in relevant field of specialty. Current Hawaii Registered Nurse License. Current Hawaii Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License with prescriptive authority that meets education requirement(s) for Hawaii state APRN prescriptive authority. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Two (2) years nurse practitioner experience or equivalent nursing experience in an outpatient setting. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Hawaii medical licensed or eligible, and meet the hospital’s medical staff credentialing standards.

Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years NP experience or equivalent in primary care in an outpatient setting. Family Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (FNP-BC) or Adult Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (ANP-BC). Preoperative and surgical experience a plus.
