JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Perianesthesia Clinical Nurse Educator to enhance the skills and competencies of nursing staff. As a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner, you will leverage your expertise to support the growth of nursing professionals in line with the American Nurses Association's standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with nursing leadership to enhance competency management, clinical education, and onboarding processes.
• Playing an essential role in transition-to-practice initiatives and policy standardization.
• Fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement across the nursing team.
Qualifications
• BSN required; enrollment in a Master's program preferred with degree completion within two years.
• Minimum of 3 years of active clinical nursing experience, including 1 year in an acute care setting and experience in Perianesthesia is preferred.
• Teaching experience is preferred, particularly in nursing professional development or specialty areas.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
• Current RN license from the CT DPH before the hire date.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification required within two years of hire.
• BLS certification required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proven ability to design and evaluate educational programs.
• Familiarity with high reliability and LEAN process improvement strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership and commitment to quality improvement in nursing education.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and needs assessments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
