Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Position PurposeAt Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Perioperative Cardiac Nurse (RN) in the Exercise Laboratory supports cardiovascular diagnostic and procedural services by preparing patients, administering moderate sedation, monitoring during procedures, and providing Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care.What You Will DoProvide peri‑procedural nursing care, including patient preparation, education, assessment, and family communication.Administer and monitor moderate sedation and ensure patient safety throughout cardiac procedures.Assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs) and exercise‑based cardiac stress testing, including intra‑procedure monitoring and post‑procedure recovery.Perform Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care, deliver thorough clinical handoffs, and ensure safe discharge.Minimum QualificationsRequired:Graduation from an accredited nursing program.Valid RN license in Connecticut.Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiovascular Step‑Down, ICU, PACU, Pre/Post Surgery, Cardiac Medical/Telemetry, or related acute cardiac setting. Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertise.Preferred:Two or more years of cardiac, perioperative, or critical care experience.Experience with moderate sedation or TEEs strongly encouraged.BLS and ACLS certifications (support available post‑hire).Familiarity with ASPAN standards and peri‑anesthesia nursing practice.Position Highlights and BenefitsFull-Time – 32 hours/week – Day ShiftShift Hours: 6:30 am to 3:00 pmOn‑Call Requirement: Every 4th weekend, 6:00 am to 10:00 am (Saturday & Sunday)This is an hourly position, included in the RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95.Ministry/Facility InformationSaint Francis Hospital, established in 1897, has been a cornerstone institution in Connecticut.
