Schedule: 24hr Night shift 9p-930a Job Summary The Extended Recovery Unit (ERU) provide the right level of care, in the right place, at the right time. The ERU is ideal for patients who are appropriate for same-day discharge, but perhaps have their surgery scheduled too late in the day to go home that evening. Rather than move from the Operating Room to the PACU and then to the inpatient unit, they can recovery comfortably in the PACU and know they will be on their way home first thing in the morning. And for the patients who do need a higher level of care, it’s reassuring to know that more inpatient beds are available to provide the care they need. Qualifications • BSN required • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required • BLS and ACLS required • PACU experience strongly preferred • Preoperative holding and evaluation experience preferred • ASPAN membership and CPAN/CAPA certification preferred • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients • Ability to demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities • Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards Additional Job Details (if Applicable) About Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is a 171- bed non-profit, community teaching hospital located in Jamaica Plain directly across the street from the Arnold Arboretum.
