Job Description
A Registered Nurse with PACU experience is needed for a 16-week contract assignment located at Eielson AFB, AK. This role involves providing postoperative care in a fast-paced setting, ensuring patient safety and comfort during recovery from anesthesia.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active Alaska RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PACU; 5+ years preferred
• Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS required
• Ability to work call and holiday rotations as needed
• Successful background check with fingerprinting within 48 hours of acceptance
Location:
Situated near Eielson Air Force Base, the position offers access to outdoor recreational activities and a close-knit community. The area is known for its natural beauty and seasonal activities including hiking, fishing, and winter sports.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor patients vital signs and recovery progress after surgery
• Manage pain control and identify any complications promptly
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation
• Collaborate closely with surgical teams and anesthesiologists
• Participate in on-call and holiday rotations as required
Schedule/Hours:
• 36 hours per week
• Days: 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Typically 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• On-call responsibilities on weekends and holidays
