Providing expert care in pre-operative, phase I, and phase II recovery, this role involves nursing responsibilities within the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) at a healthcare facility in Mountain View, HI. The position requires advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and critical care expertise to monitor patients closely after surgery, ensuring stability and addressing potential complications.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients pre-operation and during phase I and II recovery
• Monitor surgical patients for incision site integrity, body temperature, and vital stability
• Utilize equipment including Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, and Phillips Monitors
• Adapt to variable shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Participate in on-call rotations as required (0-3 times per month)
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience in ER or ICU settings considered in lieu of direct PACU experience
• Valid State of Hawaii professional nursing license required by assignment start date
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential recommended, depending on specific role requirements
• Additional specialty certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC are preferred and may be necessary
Schedule:
• Variable shifts including 8, 10, and 12-hour rotations in ASU and PACU units
• Flexibility for days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• On-call duties involve 8-hour night shifts and 24-hour weekend/holiday coverage
Additional Requirements:
• Must arrive the Thursday before assignment start for mandatory employee health appointment on Friday
• Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption application required before contract commencement
• Candidates not currently holding an active Hawaii nursing license must apply for licensure immediately upon acceptance
