An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled RN experienced in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing to support Phase 1 recovery at a Level III trauma center. This contract position focuses on night shifts, providing critical care to patients in the immediate postoperative phase. Candidates with at least two years of specialty experience in PACU are encouraged to apply, including those newer to the role who meet the experience requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive Phase 1 PACU nursing care during night shifts. • Monitor and manage patients recovering from anesthesia with multiple co-morbidities. • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including cardiovascular, cardiac, brain, and spine service specialists. • Accurately document patient status and care interventions using EPIC electronic charting. • Adhere strictly to unit protocols to maintain high standards of trauma and postoperative care. • Respond as needed to weekend shift demands following unit scheduling. Qualifications and Certifications: • Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of specialty PACU experience preferred. • Valid ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association. • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts with a schedule of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). • Experience with EPIC charting system is required. • Candidates must be comfortable working in a Level III trauma center environment. • Navy scrub color is standard for the unit.
