This opportunity seeks a registered nurse skilled in post-anesthesia care to support a busy surgical recovery unit. The role requires expertise in monitoring patients immediately following surgery, managing IVs, drips, arterial lines, and pain blocks, within a Level 2 trauma hospital environment. This position is a 13-week contract based in the Rexburg, ID area, offering a structured but demanding schedule with on-call responsibilities. Location: Based in Idaho Falls near Rexburg, this hospital serves a diverse patient population in a dynamic regional healthcare setting. The 13-bed PACU is equipped with modern technology and supports a high standard of care with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care in a 12-hour shift (7 a.m. - 7 p.m.) with on-call duties (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) following the shift. • Maintain careful monitoring of patient vitals and manage advanced procedures including IV starts, drips, arterial lines, and pain blocks. • Respond effectively to emergencies in a Level 2 trauma hospital. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including unit secretaries and tech staff. • Document patient care accurately in Meditech software. • Float to Day Surgery as needed. Qualifications: • Current RN licensure with 1-3 years of PACU experience. • Experience working in a Level 2 trauma center. • Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS. • Ability to provide 36 hours per week plus scheduled on-call shifts including nights and weekends.
