Type of Opportunity: PRN FTE: 0 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America) Responsibilities: Your role as an Emergency Department (ED) nurse will require you to: • Triage and assessment: Swiftly evaluate incoming patients to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care. • Monitor vital signs and patient status: Regularly check and document vitals, observing for any changes indicating deterioration. • Stabilization and emergency interventions: Deliver immediate treatments such as IV access, airway support, fracture immobilization, suturing, or hemorrhage control. • Medication administration and treatments: Administer medications, including IVs and blood products, ensuring accurate dosing as per physician orders. • Diagnostic testing and interpretation: Perform lab draws, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures, and interpret results to inform care. • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams: Partner with physicians, paramedics, techs, and specialists to create care plans and facilitate patient transfers or admissions. • Documentation and charting: Accurately record patient histories, interventions, responses, and discharge instructions in compliance with legal and hospital standards. • Patient and family communication: Provide clear information, emotional support, and education while maintaining professionalism and empathy. • Infection control and department upkeep: Uphold hygiene standards by cleaning and restocking equipment, ensuring a safe environment to reduce infection risks. • Discharge planning and referrals: Assist in arranging home care, rehabilitation, specialist follow-ups, or psychiatric admissions as needed.
